Credit card Utilisation when to pay statement

CC statement arrived yesterday and pay by date is 2 May
Experian next report date is 21 april 2020.
As I understand things my CC company will have or will be sending details of my statement balance to Experian say for example
£300.
On or around 21 April a search is made by Experian which will show that I have paid this amount in full.
With this info my credit score may go more positive up to 999 max.
So I assume if I pay in full before the Experian date 21 April say on 15th April rather than wait till a direct debit payment on 2 may, It will show i have had £300 of credit and cleared it when the Experian check is made making my score in the positive direction.
If this is the case is it worth me changing the statement date of my CC account ?

First off, the Experian score itself is of no real value and is not used by lenders in making their decisions so I wouldn't worry too much about what the impact on that number will be.
As for your main question, credit card companies do not submit live or daily data to credit reference agencies about their accounts. The data is provided on an aggregated monthly basis and each company will have slightly different dates on which the data is run and submitted so you won't be able to game it by paying off on a particular date.
In any case, the data submitted is a lot more than just your balance. Your spend and payments totals will also be provided so even if your balance is reported as zero, your credit report (one that the lenders see) will have data saying that you have used the card. As well as month ending balance, credit cards submit a huge volume of other data such as average monthly balance, etc - this will show that you are using the card whether the month end balance is zero or not.
I wouldn't worry about the exact date on which you pay - a direct debit is the best way of paying and be careful if you're paying manually as some companies are not great at reducing your direct debit if you make a manual payment, especially if you do it close to the due date.0 -
Sasha ty for the reply. my score here was 999 and I've have closed a couple of santander 123 account and opened a tsb and Natwest current accounts for the money. score dropped to 983 and shows credit search for both banks. Normally I would make a manual payment to CC statement leaving just a £5 to pay on DD which triggered interest on S123 accounts. My question was based on stuff on the internet about raising score through CC Utilisation.
I agree with everything you have typed.
I'm curious as if I did change the payment date if the score would go up.

Scores, particularly on Experian, normally drop with any change, good or bad. Fortunately, as they're not seen or used by anyone but you, it doesn't matter.
So to answer your question, it should lower your score but will make no difference either way to lenders viewing your files.0 -
ty zx81 im curious as to how or when it will rise back . and why I considered using CC utilisation.

If you're clearing in full, lenders will view you positively, regardless of changes in your score, which isn't used in lending decisions, but purely for entertainment purposes.

There's really no need. I don't think anyone here collects credit scores!1

Your experian date may be 21st but that does not mean it's the status of your cards at that date! Most providers will report to experian in batches on certain dates. If you look at your report it will say last updated on, which will most likely be different to the date your report is produced and also may be different to other cards you have.0
