I am reading Greencoat UK Wind's latest half-yearly report (I have a stake in my SSISA). On page 8 there's an interesting* breakdown of all their wind farms and what they sell their electricity for:
    * Well I think it's interesting, YMMV!

Hi QrizB, am I right to read that report, and page 9, as suggesting they think wholesale prices will become more normal by 2026?

If so, then that seems to fit in well, with Europe's efforts to reduce gas demand, by roughly the amount previously coming from Russia.
Mart. Cardiff. 8.72 kWp PV systems (2.12 SSW 4.6 ESE & 2.0 WNW). 20kWh battery storage. Two A2A units for cleaner heating. Two BEV's for cleaner driving.

For general PV advice please see the PV FAQ thread on the Green & Ethical Board.

That's their planning assumption for the business, yes. (It's similar to Ripple's forecasts for Kirk Hill.)
Whether it's how things actually turn out, well, no-one knows.
As a shareholder I also found the first table on page 10 interesting; they think they can continue to pay dividends, increasing annually by RPI, until 2028 even if power prices fall to £10/MWh.

Has anyone any idea what’s going on with Gresham House Energy Storage? I last had a look at this in September following the disappointing trading update when the share price was around 115p. It has now fallen to 89p. What’s changed since then? Is it just market sentiment? I sold my holding back in late October last year and keep thinking about buying in again as the shares currently trade at a very tempting 39% discount to NAV but at the back of my mind is that old adage about not catching a falling knife.

Looks like the market got nervous.  I see a director has increased shareholding so either think it's underpriced or hoping to convince the market that it is.

Is Green bonds any good regards to what they do for the planet?
  • It would appear the City has finally caught up with news of GRID(Gresham House Energy Storage Fund) shares being a steal at circa 90p, as they have risen almost 7p this morning!
Of course they may easily fall back equally as far during afternoon trading.

I really don't understand what's happening in the RE sector (mainly because I haven't had time to study it closely) but so many are trading under NAV which can only mean that the markets aren't convinced that the sector will be lucrative.  I hope this is the beginning of an upward trend of the sector.  I bought a few more Gresham last week although they will have to move a very long way to recover the transaction fees (given the small amount I bought) - which I know is a bit foolish but I fancied having some more while they were cheap.

So without being an expert I'd suggest the poor value is market sentiment and hopefully confidence will return. Similarly but unrelated government bonds are still trading at ridiculous prices (but again have started picking up). May be with a lack of general confidence, market volatility and herd mentality it's all just become a bit too silly.   Only time will tell - did the market know something that you, Ken nor me anticipated?

Incidentally I'm not responding the Ripple fund raising request. I haven't spare cash for playing with  at the moment.

Placed in wrong section, it was intended for Green & Ethical Energy news so not intended as a possible candidate for investing in. Unless of course you know better!

Some impressive stats to accompany the new heat pump from Daikin so will be interesting to see how they perform after installations have commenced. For sure -30 C should be more than adequate for here in the UK.

Daikin unveils series of residential air-to-air heat pumps

Daikin Europe NV, a subsidiary of Japanese heating system manufacturer Daikin, has introduced a new residential air-to-air heat pump line as part of a strategy to develop products tailored to cold climates.
“Nepura is engineered to operate down to -30 C and ensures high heating capacity at low ambient temperatures,” the manufacturer said. “The improved outdoor unit structure with full bottom plate equipped with a standard heater avoids ice build-up.”
“Nepura’s indoor units feature a specially designed fan that optimizes airflow for high-performance at low sound levels down to 19 dBA,” the company stated.
Their output ranges from 2.5 kW to 3.5 kW and their seasonal coefficient of performance (SCOP) is between 4.85 and 5.17.

  • @Coastalwatch, are you suggesting that Daikin Industries shares are a potential investment?  They appear to be quoted on the Tokyo stock exchange.
