Refund into a zero balance credit card

Hello, I paid my holiday by credit card for the protection and paid the credit card off in full. My holiday will be cancelled, if I get offered a full refund it will go back onto my credit card. As there is a zero balance, will it sit as a credit (it will be over £3,000), or is there a way I can withdraw the money from the credit card and back into my savings? I dont want that kind of credit on my credit card. Thanks

Your credit card provider can, and normally will, arrange for the money to be paid back to you. Sometimes they send a cheque, sometimes they might do it electronically. It's an entirely normal and common process. Credit card providers don't like leaving an in-credit balance on a card either.

The difficulty may be getting in touch with your bank to arrange it. Some are only dealing with urgent requests. If you can’t get it easily refunded, then look at it another way, use the credit credit card like cash. Pay for everything you can on the credit card and use the balance up.
