Do websites increase the price if you keep checking the same holiday?

I found a Tui holiday I thought might be safe to book in 2021 though I'm wary of booking so far ahead after CV19 experience. I revisited the site yesterday and the price had gone up about £50 and today when I looked it had gone up another £50! Is this something travel co's do when they know someone is looking at a specific holiday frequently to panic you into buying? I won't book it at the price now quoted but I just wondered about this for future reference.

This definitely happens with flights. I now use a different brouser to make the actual booking to get best price after browsing for options.1

It's probably the flight element, which can fluctuate up and down daily. Keep checking, the price may go down.

Still worth checking with another browser as to whether the price differs.0

Some people swear that they do, and others equally claim it has no effect. I have never experienced a holiday price simply going up because I've checked numerous times. In fact I have seen prices go down as well. There is always fluctuation in prices. For example, one holiday I'm currently checking had an upgrade supplement of nearly £300 a few days ago which has now almost halved.
