A query on your (Martin) 12 furloughing need to know list

In your list of 12 need to know furloughing answers, number 6 says an employee can be furloughed, work and then furloughed again. An example - furloughed March, worked April and furloughed May. I assume this employee would be paid 80% of February’s pay each time they are furloughed or is it 80% of the previous work period - ie April in this example.
If this is the case can somebody who worked as a campsite warden from 1st March until 31st and was then laid off without being furloughed as wasn’t on PAYE on 28th February be furloughed after working, or is 28th February still the required date?

28th of February is still the required date, listening to the chancellor answering that question on Twitter the other day it seems very unlikely that date will change.

He made it clear again on the daily COVID-19 update. There will be no movement on the 28 February date.0

Absolutely appalling treatment of the people who started new jobs after the 28th feb. I understand the fraud element of it, but surely if they can prove the job was offered to them by the 28th of Feb then that should be taken into account. Thousands of people are now without an income.0

Even if they changed the date, which it’s pretty clear they’re not going to at this point the scheme is still optional, the employer has to want to do it - based on that alone it’s never going to be fair to everyone.trixie73 said:Absolutely appalling treatment of the people who started new jobs after the 28th feb.
