Contacting B&Q?

  • I think the fact that B&Q are still trading while not dealing with existing orders is disgusting, I know we are in times never seen before but a phone call or text costs nothing,I was expecting a kitchen delivery on 18th April paid for 6 weeks ago,i haven't had a text, email or kitchen,if you go on B&Qs facebook site there are hundreds of people waiting for orders, some are being told that their kitchen or bathroom delivery will now be 2021!!! Is this acceptable,I dont think so,meanwhile B&Q do not answer emails, facebook messages or telephones,I wouldn't like to be working on a customer service desk in one of their stores when they reopen.

Any  company that has delivered  recently that  used a two man team is putting the end of the epidemic further away. When there are many in isolation  and other key workers that are putting themselves on the line its very very selfish.  The most optimistic easing of delivery restrictions is the 11th May and it will take deliveries of such thing as kitchens a lot longer than that to return to normal so that two man teams can be used again.
When has the delivery of a  kitchen  ever been a life and death matter.

I'm not demanding my delivery, I've told them I'll happily collect if they get it to my local store!
The real issue here is the lack of communication, if a business takes several thousand pounds from you and gives a delivery date I think they are obliged to at least discuss the cancellation and offer alternatives, including refunds. IKEA manage to do exactly that, why can't B&Q?
I have now spoken to customer service teams at AO.com, Worktops Express, Flooring Direct UK, CEF and several others, I have also accepted on time deliveries from the first three mentioned. It's not rocket science to put someone knowledgeable and helpful on a phone.
As for your last sentence, check some of the posts on B&Q's facebook page. There are elderly and vulnerable customers and key workers a plenty who cannot cook a meal due to B&Q's shameful service.
At the end of the day, they entered a contract and if they fail for whatever reason there should be the option of a refund, I'm sure many people would understand and wait for things to get better but by completely ignoring them whilst hanging on to considerable sums of money it can't be a  surprise that people are getting angry.
  • By the way, it's not just here and facebook that they're getting slated, take a look at Trustpilot etc and see what's happened to their ratings. It takes a lot of bad reviews to create such a drop, we can't all be wrong!
