My package holiday was cancelled but they won't refund the full amount

JoshB92, yes you are correct . ATOL stands for Air Travel Organisers Licence and is in place as financial protection if a tour operator or airline goes into administration.1

Does your ATOL certificate show the breakdown of the elements that you are covered for ? ie flights, hotel, transfers ? Most companies will have to wait for refunds from various sources before they can refund you directly, maybe this is why you have only been offered a partial refund initially. Certainly keep trying to get in touch, unfortunately many places are only working with around 20% of their staff. As they are a non ABTA company, you may be better speaking to citizens advice in this instance. Not 100% sure but im sure someone else will come along soon and comment. Good luck0

The ATOL certificate has a breakdown of the over and covers the holiday and all its parts
The company refuses to refund more with no explanation and the above is the the answer back from ABTA. The travel agency is ABTA but apparently they booked through another company that is non ABTA? Surely this is non compliance as an ABTA member we had no idea that the company the travel agency booked through was not ABTA.
Could I claim through ATOL considering the travel company still exists? What can citizens advice do?0 -

Thank you I'll start the process with my credit card provider hopefully this will be more fruitful than the travel agency or ABTA1
