Starling Bank Connected Card

Just had email from Starling announcing Connected Card - basically can give card to trusted person so they can shop for you. Money comes from dedicated 'space' capped at £200.
Could be a great help to those in isolation

Just tried on my starling app and there is nothing for connected card, only add space.

    Might need an app update.

Yes its under spaces, choose add space using the plus sign on the bottom of the screen.
You can give it a name eg Shopping.
I think this idea might be one Martin could mention on his TV show.

Got the email, too. Nothing for a connected card on my account (no "add space"), and no update for the app.

Starling chat have told me that they are still rolling it out and it should be available "soon" for all. They could have put that in their emails.....

EDIT: Update arrived, and manually installed (the iPhone auto-install seems to function with some delay). I ordered the card, just in case it might be needed at some stage. It sounds very useful to have.

I checked play store for app update, there was one for me so updated, launched app and the option for connected card is there and I have ordered one.
Will come in handy for lending to son, wife etc not necessarily for Covid-19 related shopping.

Well done Starling for launching this linked card 1 1 1
Whilst at the moment, it is aimed at helping people affected by the current situation
(and I commend them for that) this really does have loads of potential.

I will be keeping a close eye on development of this product, but, will also hold back on ordering one so they can get them to people who need them more than me can get theirs quicker.

A great addition to the Starling offering, especially in the current climate, with lots of future potential for shared expenses but not wanting a joint account.

You could also use it even if the person you were shopping for, elderly relative, or neighbour doesn't have their own starling account. They transfer you money, give you a check which you allocate to the spaces contented to the card, keeping every thing separate
