it is obvious from the totals that the double points did not work on that day.

I'm not a 100% sure about this, but I seem to recall reading somewhere in Tesco literature that double points get added separately and a lot later. They might even be somewhere separate on your statement, I'm not sure.

As I said, not sure about this, I've just got a feeling about this at the back of my mind, but just thought I'd let you know, all might not be lost in this case for you! :) Perhaps someone can shed more light on this.

My mum gets them regular but I don't. I think that they are linked to products. Mum regulary gives me the petrol discount voucher for 5p per litre off and me and hubby fill both cars and save a few pounds!

Do they regularly give 5p /litre vouchers then? They are doing a full on promotion this week about spend 50 quid get 5p off /litre.

BTW to the others asking if it's ok to fill both cars, I don't doubt you can get away with it quite easy, if you park both cars bumper/bumper and switch between them real quick, don't take too long because the pump does have a time out feature. HOWEVER, in this weeks promotional 5p/litre yellow/red leaflet in the t&c on the back it says "one vehicle per coupon" max 100litres. So you may find yourself in a pickle. If the cashier knows and is a jobsworth.

tee hee, I had 67litres fuel and was given 4.20 cash back.(mistake) :D

The best thing to do is to email them. I've done this before when I tried to check my points total on line and it wouldnt.

    On a similar note,

How many of us actually check we have been given the points? At the bottom of your receipt it says how many points you have up to the previous day. the points for this reciept are shown in the higher total tommorrow, so add your points today to the total points from yesterday and you should have your points total as it will appear on your next reciept.

I ask this of us because the other day I purchased 50 quid of groceries (to get the petrol offer) and I gave in a double points coupon, and a 50 points for purchasing organic veg. so my total points should have been 51 X 2 + 50 = 152 or (51 + 50) x 2 = 202 depending on how it gets worked out I suspect it would be 152.

The bottom of the reciept said points this visit 101 including clubcard points coupon 50. So they have not doubled the purchase 51 to 102. I didn't ask because I have asked about this before and they say it will show up on your next reciept, well I now have the next reciept(s) and it is obvious from the totals that the double points did not work on that day.

So check your totals in future.

I got one of these Tesco points slips last night (Tuesday) it was for 750 points on 30 pounds spend on ladies clothes. That sounds like a good deal!

Especially if I use one of the clothing vouchers which I got and haven't used for joining the clothes club.

And a voucher for £5 from the Elle magazine, and with the current 20% discount too.

I'd never read the small print on the leaflet... I just went by what it said on the coupon... max 100 litres.

myself and my husband met in the petrol station (how romantic!) and parked either side of the pump! Both cars take about 45 litres and were both nearly empty!

I filled the first... it came to about £44 , moved the pump over to the other car and carried on. It stopped at about £65! I couldnt believe it!
I went in and explained that I was filling both cars up because I had the 5p off coupon. She said that the pumps have a maximum amount that it will dispense. She just said to put the nozzle back on and then start again. Did that, went back in and she just added them both together and worked out the discount (phew!)

Thought this might be useful to someone!

    Thanks!

I regularly get a voucher for free goods. Tampax Compac to be exact. Usually about twice a month.

Not a lot of use to me these days.
  • I got 2 bonus point vouchers for beef joints today - still ploughing through the beef in gravy but still at least the joints won't have that delightful multi-coloured shimmer !!
