Hi All, I currently have a credit card and a loan along with the usual utility bills, phone contact etc.....
Last night I took out a new VERY account (Shop Direct) with the intention of just buying my item £250 outright and paying with my debit card.
However, stupidly, I just flicked through the terms and conditions and ended up with a credit account which I did not want as I didn’t want anything else on my credit report....
So I called Very, paid off the item in FULL and asked them to reduce the credit limit to zero which they did and request to close the account in full which they are now processing...
I just wanted to know if this would affect my credit score and if so how and would it make it anymore difficult to get any further credit?
I am only asking as I had planned to try and re-finance and old loan to try and get a lower rate so would this affect that?

It'll just show as a closed account, or if you withdrew from the agreement, nothing at all.
Your score will probably drop but that's ok. A closed account won't worry most lenders. Your existing debt will be a much greater factor.2 -

Lots in a short space of time would have a negative impact. Just the one sounds reasonable.0
