Furlough

Should this "lockdown" be extended and social distancing still in place, could your employer now pay you off even though you're currently on furlough or does it have to be continued as long as government deems it necessary?

Think this is a hard one to answer and I think it's dependent on each business. Although businesses can sign up to the furlough scheme to help with wages each business needs to look at it's cash flow and whether the business can survive after the lockdown. It will still have other outgoings to pay for such as rent, electricity, rates etc. They may forecast that to survive they may need pay people off now.
