Hi
Recently upon looking into mortgage applications I discovered 3 defaults against my name that I had no clue about. I have been in touch with the companies over e-mail but with no joy so far. They seem a bit reluctant to help. The companies are Lowell Ltd and a Debt Mangers Ltd which I have two faults with. I suspect a family member has been using my name without my knowledge which makes the situation a bit more difficult. The defaults are not for massive amounts of money but I'm a bit stuck on how to fight them. Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

You ask them to evidence the debt.
If they appear genuine but you believe fraud, you'll need to give details to Action Fraud and then to the lender. If you choose not to, you'll need to live with the defaults.1 -
Hi,
During the current climate what chance would I get accepted for a mortgage on a property/flat valued around £90-£100,000 with a 5% deposit. I earn £22,500 a year and have no debts but not sure if I earn enough to be accepted by many lenders.
Thank you.0 -

The problem is not just your low income, but your deposit. 5% is a non-starter, you need at least 10% for mainstream lenders. Who, with 3 defaults, are not going to be interested.
