Employer Abusing Coronavirus Situation

Hi what would my rights be if my employer has used this horrible situation of uncertainty to remove me from the company and bring in a a new employer on a lower wage/experience?

    Then sadly they can dismiss you just by giving you a week's notice (unless your contract requires more).
  • Yeah, I will be paid a months salary as my contract don’t contain the lay off clause and I was wondering if it’s legal to do it in this situation as they have stated the jobs and company is shrinking to 25% of its current size but yet all my current/previous projects have resumed therefore the previous income coming into sustain my salary as I’m a QS in construction who is on PAYE payroll.

    Yes. With less than 2 years service they can fire you for any (non-discriminatory) reason (or lack of reason) they like and you have no legal comeback
