Who could really be arsed for a few quid which is all you’d get on an instant access savings account?

  • I applied to HSBC to take advantage of the extended Temp overdraft - On Friday I received an e mail saying the extension was successful. It was granted from 10/09/2020 to 09/12/2020.  However, it is not in place.  I called HSBC but as it was a Sunday they asked me to call back and speak to Financial Support today.  After over 1 hour on the phone and several questions about the e mail - they cannot tell me anything!  The e mail seems legitimate / all links work / all contact numbers are correct / addressed to me.  It is not a a fake e mail.  But they cannot confirm or deny it is from the.  The said a complaint can take 8 weeks.  I left it that a supervisor will call me today.  This has caused me so much stress and I am really upset by the lack of knowledge regarding the e mail and how nothing was resolved. I will be surprised if I do get a call back.  This is worse than receiving a rejection e mail - which I am used to army credit rating has gone down so much in recent months. :(
