I think you can look at it from two points of view:1. The word "Expert" referring to Martin Lewis as the original Money Saving Expert and owner of this site.2. The word "Expert" implying the possibility of a user of the site becoming expert enough about finances pertaining to their own individual situation. The advice provided to other uses by forum members can then only come from those members' own experience and knowledge about the particular niche in which they are interested if they have indeed experienced the same issues as the user requesting advice. The above two definitions attempt to remove the temptation to consider "ego" when talking about "experts".If you want to be rich, live like you're poor; if you want to be poor, live like you're rich.0

Ignore the troll. On another thread he says silver is bad - https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/comment/77604762#Comment_77604762jasonwebb said:There is risk in everything even holding cash

Complete and utter rubbish. And a good example of what some of the posts on this thread are talking about.jasonwebb said:There is risk in everything even holding cash

Yes , 10 out of 10------------that is another valid way of achieving the point I was making. Thank you.grumiofoundation said:
Maybe then people could respond to them with information to help them become an "E" rather than making disparaging comments about their lack of knowledge?coachman12 said:
The problem with folks on the forum having "a quick google" ( instead of having the depth of knowledge such as Thrugelmir has ) is that we tend to lose what the "E" stands for in "MSE".Sailtheworld said:Is that true? Retail investors as far as I can tell from a quick google invest less often and in smaller amounts than institutional investors. Supply and demand determine a stock price.0 -
Everyone's own opinions is tailored by their own experiences and and making mistakes. You'll never learning throughout your lifetime. I've always found listening to and questioning "experts" an invaluable resource. You many not agree with everything said, but you'll be better informed. As far as investments go without differing views there'd be no markets.0
