in Credit cards
I ordered an item of furniture from Laura Ashley with their Laura Ashley branded a MasterCard. The company has gone into administration now but is still trading. The furniture did not arrive by the stated delivery date and Laura Ashley have said it won’t be delivered now. I contacted the credit card company and they have told me that I am Not protected by Section 75 And can’t make a claim under it. Is this correct? The credit card is financed by a company called New Day Ltd.

If by "won’t be delivered now" you mean "won't be delivered at all" have you attempted to claim a refund from Laura Ashley?
If you have but they refuse, have you contacted your card provider to get them to chargeback the transaction?
(Section 75 "only" applies for transactions over £100 up to £30,000)1 -
Not the 1st time that this has been heard of from Newday. You need to get passed front line call center staff. I know that they have just taken a lot on, so might have a lot that are not fully aware of chargebacks or S75.
Ring back and if they say NO. Either ask to speak to their line manager/supervisor or say you want to raise a complaint over their lack of understanding of both Mastercard & their legal regulations.
You do not need S75 anyway. As straight forward Chargeback will reclaim the funds for you.Life in the slow lane1 -
Just wanted to thank you, I contacted the Credit Card Cpmpany again and followed you advice. They have returned the money via Chargeback agree that they give me the wrong information to start with.1
