Parcel Hero declined Insurance claim despite losing my parcel

Hi guys, quick synopsis, i sent an item to a client in Germany and i purchased additional insurance to cover the full amount. Parcel entered the system when the driver picked up and scanned it in and there after no addtional tracking details. I waited almost 3 weeks before i contacted them to enquire where my parcel was, they did a quick check, said it was lost and i need to make a claim for them to pay out for the insurance. They now refuse to pay out as i cant send them details such as:- An invoice/receipt for the replacement value.
An invoice/receipt to show the original purchase costs.
The item was a fossil which i found myself as my hobby is fossil collecting. I spent many hours getting the fossil ready for display/sale and i found a buyer who was prepared to pay the not insignificant amount of £1500 to buy it. Correspondance was carried out via ebay and then personal email which i have a recored of and was happy to provide Parcel Hero a transcipt of. Now their arguement is they need a sale receipt to prove the replacement value/cost value etc. I found the item so didnt buy it and therefore cannot provide a previous sales receipt. My buyer paid for the item via paypal which contains a description of the item but Parcel Hero will not accept this as proof of value and therefore continue to decline my claim. Im at my wits end. Im now out of pocket by £1500 and my buyer doesnt have the one of a kind fossil he was hoping to recive. Can anyone offer any advice on what to do next please, i tried resolver but that got me know where. My arguement is that because the guy paid £1500 through paypal that is my sale receipt and indication of replacement value but parcel hero just wont accept it, nor have they even refunded my original postage charge and insurance costs as they even failed to provide that service

So when you say ‘Correspondance was via ebay and personal email’ what do you mean?eddynoodles said:

I sell fossils on ebay, the guy had previously bought fossils from me from ebay when i discussing having the one that went missing, he wanted to buy it, we agreed a price between us and he paid via paypal, so it was never listed on ebay and i didnt have to pay their 10% feesKatrinaWaves said:

Do you have details of the insurance policy ? It is not Parcel Hero who will be insisting on proof of purchase price, it will be the insurance company.
Incidently, Royal MAIL also advise they require proof of purchase price to pay out a claim.0
