Childcare Vouchers deduction from furloughed salary

Hi,
My employer is putting me onto the furlough scheme, so the govt picks up the 80% of my wage
i asked about the child care vouchers and whether or not they would be incremental to the 80% govt payment
the employer said they would be deducting the child tax vouchers from the 80%,
it doesn't seem right given that it is the govt paying the 80% and not the employer,
anyone have any similar exp??

It’s a pre arranged deduction from your salary so yes I would have expected it to still continue. Perhaps worth contacting  with the voucher scheme provider to see what they suggest

Hmm ok, I just thought given that the company is not paying the cost, they would top up the child care vouchers ontop of the 80% govt support.

But it seems they are not obligated to, so it then comes down to the individual company and what they are willing to do for employees.
