PPI Refund

  • Hi All, this is my first post so apologies if not in the right section.
I have received a PPI refund from my bank which deducted income tax on statutory interest of 20%. Can I reclaim this from HMRC or is this correct. Sorry if this has been already answered elsewhere but any advice is appreciated.
    thanks Phil

If you're below the tax threshold, then yes.  If you're a higher rate tax payer, you'll need to pay the additional tax.
  • hi thanks for the quick reply. I think I am below the tax threshold could you advise how  I can check?
