Car finance payment break help!!

I took a 3 month COVID-19 break for my car finance as I'm not working due to the virus. I was granted the break on the 27th of March and got a email about the agreement and that it will continue in July again.

Payment has went today due to my own fault. I have a standing order with them, not a direct debit. What is the possibility that they could refund that as I have the 3 month payment break agreement and I really can't afford this with the whole COVID-19 and no work going on. I'm hoping they would understand and refund.

They would of stopped all the direct debits but there was no information about standing orders online and it forgot to move the money from that account to another but I forgot that the car finance company can't stop a standing order payment going to them, I probably should of cancelled it until July.

    You need to call them.
I'd say there is a good chance you can be refunded but it might take 5, 10 or even 28 days to get that back to you. So prepare to be without it.
Even as a DD I would not trust them to adjust it for you. You definitely needed to stop the payment your side to be sure.
There is a chance you can contact your bank to try and recall the payment too. Do that ASAP. They may be sympathetic if this is a first-time and they are able to reverse it.
    Painful lesson to learn.
  • I would like some advice on car finance and the car being faulty if possible, please. Long story cut short, I purchased the car in July 2019 on a 5-year deal. I have only had the car 10 months and since that purchase I have had multiple problems with the following list: Scratches, Ad Blue, Tyres, Steering pulling to the left and now the Steering is pulling to the right.

The above scratches and steering issue have still not been resolved but I have now been advised that the springs on the front of my car when it was manufactured was not the correct one’s as such and now waiting for these to be in store to put the steering issue right. The steering issue has been going on for the whole 10 months and I have expressed this issue endless with the car dealership.

The problems have caused me so much inconvenience and the car is unreliable with faults. The garage I have purchased the car from have not provided a good service and I am not satisfied with the car or service that has been provided. Seems like they are constantly fobbing me off.

Please can you advise of any help on the approach for this complaint?

Also, am I within my rights to request them to take back the car and putting the funds I have paid toward another car like for like or something similar?

    Many thanks in advance.

Odd you have bumped a month old thread with a totally unrelated question.
