Current conditions with Mail Order companies

With the current conditions, Mail order deliveries and Postal are made without any contact between us.
Mail order/parcel delivery to the doorstep is left without signatures etc., just ringing the bell to let you know its left at your door.
So a Mail order company has made a mistake with my order and has been shipped.
They tell me not accept or not sign for the delivery etc. so it will be returned to them.
Where do I stand if the delivery is made without my signature or its left on my doorstep etc.

If that happens, just take the item in and then contact the retailer and advise them of what has happened and ask them to either arrange for another courier to collect the goods or if you are able to get to a post office, ask for a prepaid label for the return.0

Depending on the courier (and possibly the type of service) I think they're at least checking that you're answering the door to pick up the parcel, not just dumping the parcel and running.

Well, I suggest you find out what the practice is of the particular courier in question. Are you likely to miss them turning up?

DPD also take a picture of the item. He even had my feet in the pictureThe driver was very happy. No traffic = speedy rounds (less business deliveries) & more home deliveries = More £££ for him. Silver cloud for some.

IndeedHad a DPD delivery booked for today - I knew that we may not be home (daily exercise) so I ticked the box saying 'leave in a safe place'. Turns out that we were still at home but busy on a zoom conference but they still insisted on knocking at the door for my photo!!!0
