Central Heating Off - Top Floor Heating On

Hi,
Awhile ago I had a problem whereby the heating was staying on even when the heating and hot water controls were set to off. Diagnosis found that the motorised control valve had got wet. Replacing this fixed the problem.
With the warmer weather this week I've now turned off the heating, leaving just the hot water on. When the hot water is on the ground floor radiators are not hot at all but top floor radiators are very hot.
The top floor has a central heating pump (flosamata 25-6-130) which seems to be on when the hot water is on - it buzzes when it is on.
Is anyone able to provide any insight on why this is happening? Will there be any issues with just unplugging this pump?

Have you checked the other motorised valves in the system ?If you have a fully pumped system with a hot water tank, there is probably a zone valve to regulate water flow to the top floor. Possibly stuck ?Any language construct that forces such insanity in this case should be abandoned without regrets. –
