16V battery in 20V drill

I have a Worx drill that came with a 20V battery. I have come across a 16V Worx battery, otherwise the same (fits etc). Can I safely use this 16V battery in the drill?

Thanks.

The likelihood is that the drill will run slow with a 16V battery if it's designed for 20V. Do you have a 16V charger though? A more serious issue would be trying to charge a 16V battery with a 20V charger which could overheat the battery or even cause it to explode.

Have you actually tried to see if it fits? I would be very surprised if different voltage batteries fitted the same tool.
