hello, i got a letter saying i should register as vulnerable and i have been receiving very generous free food packages which I no longer require. but i don't know how to stop the deliveries.

the letter says to re-register then select no for needing food deliveries but there isn't any option for that.

i tried changing my answer to yes for - Do you have a way of getting essential supplies delivered at the moment? - but i have still been getting deliveries.

has anyone been able to successfully opt out from receiving these deliveries?
thanks

There's a previous long running thread on the subject here
The consensus seems to be that you are receiving the parcels because when you registered online as being 'extremely vulnerable' as instructed in your shielding letter, you answered 'no' to the question about whether you had friends or family who could get essentials to you.
As per the OP, the advice is that if you go back and change the answer to 'yes' then it should theoretically stop the delivery of food parcels, but this doesn't always seem to work. People have also been worried that doing so may mean that you are also removed from the priority list for getting online food delivery slots at the major supermarkets, and/or impact on any arrangements that may have been made for getting prescriptions being belivered.
An alternative is to try getting in touch with your local council, as they will either be the ones organising the parcels or know who is, and they can then get your name removed directly from the food parcel list at a local level without affecting the main online registration list settings. At the very least they should be able to arrange or put you in touch with a local foodbank or similar who will be able to collect the unwanted parcel and ensure that it doesn't go to waste.
