Temp agency not.paying furlough yet

Hi. My agency are saying ( through a friend ) that they are waiting to claim themselves and we will be paid a 5 week lump sum. Being on minimum wage, do they think we have that amount of money that we can wait 5 weeks for a payout?? 
I've tried calling and calling about universal credit, but am either put on hold and cut off, or can't get through. Got less than £90 in the bank and pay £80 rent each week and have child maintenance to pay as well

You'll need to claim UC online and then wait for them to ring you. There's been more than 1 million people claim UC in the past couple of weeks. As you can imagine they are incredibly busy but they will call you.

Unless you've agreed otherwise, your contractual terms of employment have not changed.

If they are a large agency with lots of people on the books they probably do not have enough money themselves available to pay everyone for 5 weeks either. At least they have agreed to apply to the scheme does not seem that many other agency’s are looking at other posts on here.
