Dismissal due to restructure

Options
On 21 March I was told by my HR Manager that my post wasn’t longer required and I was being released. I was advised that this was nothing to do with the Coronavirus and was not entitled to any government funding. I was also told that the restructure had taken place in 2019 but that the HR Manager stated she was told by the Ops Director to tell me on 21 March - probably the worst possible time!  No-one in the office were aware of a restructure.

I am not eligible for redundancy as have only been in post for 18 months.

I was advised my last day would be 31 March but I’d be paid until 23 April. I asked if they could re-employ me and put me on furlough but they said it would be fraud on their part if they did and that my post was no longer in the structure.

Can anyone offer any advice?

On the plus side you will get any outstanding holiday pay, so make sure that's paid.

Apply for UC, check local job markets etc.
