Just wondering what anyone elses thoughts were with regards to a NON REFUNDABLE booking on Booking.com? We normally book this way as there is a group of us, and if 1 didnt want to go, the rest still would. Tried emailing both hotel and Booking.com.
Anyone made any progress with reclaiming £ back?

I had one for the end of this month. They have agreed for me to move the dates to the week after Xmas, at no extra cost but no partial refund either (as it is a cheaper week). This is fine by me as it gives us something to do in that dead week after Xmas, and I dont lose a holiday.
So i suspect its going to be on a case by case basis. Have you logged in to see what options it is actually giving you?1 -

Dont bother with emails. Log in, see what the options are for the booking, you have the option there to send a message to the hotel also (i did this twice this morning and had replies and date changes done within the hour). Booking.com then rang me from a French number half an hour later to confirm the hotel had changed the dates. Overall I think they have been very good, in my case at least.
I did ring Booking.com last week and got straight through, so if no option to change the dates is online, give them a ring. You will need the confirmation ID and the Pin number from the original booking. Number is 02035646725

I've just been on and its says in the chat:
Customer Service You asked to cancel the following room(s):
• Family Room
To do this, you will need to pay € 870.31 according to your booking policy. We’ve asked Jiva Beach Resort - All Inclusive if they’re willing to waive this fee and will let you know as soon as they reply
We've not asked to cancel at all :-( Its now showing as cancelled.
