Fees on 0% credit card purchase in Europe

Hi,
Hope someone can help me on this? the title isn't exact.
Question
If i had a new UK 0% purchase credit card with a 29 month period, would i be able to make a purchase in a European country (5K Euros) with the credit card and still receive the 0% offer and pay it off during the 29 months?
Will the 0% offer not be valid as the purchase will be outside the UK and in Euros?
I know there will be a 2.99% charge and i would not like to get a loan from a bank.
Many thanks
