Serious Issue: Cant Apply any Current Account on my Current Address

Hi Everyone,
I had an serious issue about getting a current account, I am a UK national but i lived in switzerland for past 6 years. I no longer have any uk highstreet bank account.
I recently move back to UK for new job. I had rented a studio in Wolverhampton. I tried to apply a new current account on my current address and none of the banks accept my application!!
Will there any issue on my current postcode? I had try Nationwide, Halifax ( first approved then decliend), virgin bank ...

It is probably because there is no financial record of you - when you apply online bank's automated systems look for evidence of other credit products such as cards, loans, mobile phones, internet etc as well as the electoral roll. If you are not on the ER you need to get yourself added asap. Go to https://www.gov.uk/register-to-vote
The best thing to do going forward is probably go into a branch or failing that (and it is probably not that easy right now) give your chosen bank a call and explain your situation. There are many in your position and banks have processes to deal with such applications. You could also check your credit file to see what i there although I doubt that will help too much.
It is probably best not to continually apply online and get continually rejected.0 -

From their past posts here, they have been financially active in the UK during the last 6 years - e.g. applying - apparently successfully - for a NatWest credit card in 2016. So my guess would be something adverse in their credit history, rather than no history.

You might find that Monzo or Starling can help, both banks only gave an app for applications, so there is no fallback to branch
They verify your ID by photo and selfie, as well as the normal electronic checks0
