Missed ISA deadline
Okay, a late decision on my part (big lesson learned) but decided to put more cash into my S&S ISA before end of tax year so initiated transfer in the morning of 4th April.
I moved an initial £1K to see if the transfer worked okay – it did.
I subsequently transferred a larger amount and while on the portal, a message came back indicating insufficient funds.
There had been a previous scramble of moving cash between bank accounts to ensure the money was in the correct account to be collected from so I thought this may be the problem.
I managed to contact the sending bank via webchat and although they were understandably busy, was able to leave a message about this. Received a very helpful reply stating that the funds requested had passed all checks and were ready to be released to the ISA platform. Encouraged by this, I tried the transfer again today and had the same ‘insufficient funds’ message.
I have a screenshot of the ‘computer says no’ message and the bank message stating the funds were ready to go. Is there any point pursuing this (I really wanted the money in the ISA this tax year) or a waste of time?
