Hi
I am writing on this Forum to seek help as I don’t know where else to go
My business has suffered so much in recent weeks . I run a small Estate Agency in Lancashire.
We renewed our Public Liability Insurance in 2015 after previously being with Simply Business. Our new insurance company is Hiscox as recommended by Towergate acting as broker
We have recently received a summons for £22000 from On The Market, this company we used for 3/4 months in 2015 . However the level of service was poor and we advised them at the time that we where unhappy with the service and wished to end the contact . They subsequently stopped advertising our properties. This was nearly five years ago. We continued to received invoices via email but on a number of occasions we advised On The Market that we could not pay for a service we where not receiving
We have now been advised by Hiscox that as the contract with On The Market was prior to our renewal we are not covered
I do not know what to do as I cannot afford to pay £22.000, I am just surviving this is likely to send my business to the wall can anyone give me advice.

This doesn't sound like "public liability" anyway. Does the policy cover you for disputes with suppliers?
