Is anyone else unable to log in to Post Office online savings accounts?

For the past few days I've been getting an error after logging in saying 'We are experiencing technical difficulties'. It's a bit of a problem as I can't action the direct debits I've set up to pull funds from various accounts. I do it manually at the same time each month.

I get that message (and have done for months) when I:
Try and move money from an account.
    Try and open another account.

Their whole website is a 'Technical difficulty'.
  • Hi,
just logged on, no problem, try this site.
  • I can't log in. All I get is this which is not helpful. The person who answered the phone (eventually) didn't know and couldn't help..

  • I was just about to make the exact same thread.

For the past couple days i've been having issues with this. I'll log in and get the error message as shown above. I'll try again and may get it again. I'll try again and then be able to log in.
I may stay logged in or it may randomly kick me out. Some times it may kick me out after 5 seconds, some times maybe 1 minute.

I went to withdraw some money (i have about 5 savers). Tried the first one - wouldn't let me. Tried again and again - wouldn't let me.
Tried the second one - let me.
    Tried the 3rd and 4th - wouldn't let me.
Went to try the 5th .... it logged me out.
I haven't been able to open new accounts for months and months and months. Perhaps over a year now.

I've selected to cancel direct debits but they remain active. I can't be bothered with their telephone right now so i just manually remove the money from the post office account but now that i'm having trouble doing that i may have to get on the phone if it becomes a major problem.

The post office savings accounts are a pain in the backside. If i didn't need them to meet interest criteria on current accounts then i'd ditch them in a second.
The way interest rates are dropping and the level of faff that is required for a few pence, i'll be taking a serious look at exactly what this faff generates me each year and may end up just shutting the whole thing down.

No help at all, but I was able to withdraw from both my accounts on Friday night.
DDs still working OK too. I've not (yet) experienced the widely reported problems with the Post Office.

Me neither until this weekend. We have 3 log ins between us (and 4 accounts) but I've only been able withdraw from one account despite trying a dozen or so times over the last 48 hours.

I think there are now 3 threads on this issue

Any chance a Board Guide could merge them?
