Hairdresser Chair Rental

Thank you for your input. The lady in question is self employed with a paid accountant doing her returns as per self employment rules. She is currently at home with 2 small children (obviously not at school at present) my question 'Really how are people suppose to live?' Was for this one situation as it seems HMRC will not be looking at 'self employment' payments until June and her Salon that she rents a chair from wants her rent paid as normal. The words fickle and mistress whilst sounding great used in a sentence is not applicable in this instance! I cant see how your comments regarding people finding jobs beneath them, and foolhardy and reckless are helpful not to mention insulting. Feel free to look elsewhere on the forum to see if you can help someone...rather than putting people in boxes and then making assumptions.0

I dont believe she is aware that Universal Credit can be applied for and I cannot see it being a route that she would take. I have no idea what monies she has put by, the question originally was did she have to pay the rent when the premises are closed therefore disabling her from working.0

If she doesn't pay rent, what is the proprietor going to do? With no written contract, he/she will have a hard job suing her as there will be no evidence to say what would happen if the whole property is closed.
In practical terms he could deny her a chair on re-opening. That is a risk that she may want to take.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards.
