I have checked thru the wording and cannot see an extension in this senario , , if you are adament , please link us to this"Your car, motorcycle, light van or other light vehicle’s MOT expiry date will be automatically extended by 6 months if it’s due on or after Monday 30 March 2020.
This means that your vehicle will still have a valid MOT certificate for an extra 6 months.
You do not need to do anything for this to happen. However, you must keep your vehicle safe to drive.
This applies to all vehicles, including those that need their first ever MOT test."

The car was MOTd in March. I also had it serviced so it's roadworthy and maintained as per service schedule. Maybe I wasted my money on the MOT but ho hum. I like the advice given to ask the finance company to direct me to the specific part of the contract that states I am responsible for the upkeep after they failed to collect at the end of the contract term0

The cheapest option is to SORN the vehicle and then get insurance only covering storage. It will be a lot cheaper since you never take it out and thus there is zero chance of a road accident.
You can then seek to recover your costs from the finance company later.0 -
If you're registered keeper, I suggest you either insure it or SORN it, otherwise you will be fined. Also, you don't want to be responsible of the full value of the car until finance company confirms they will cover it under their insurance.
