What makes you think they will give you a new card when you defaulted on the previous one?

I had a card with Capital One some years ago. It was written off when I became ill with cancer. Fast forward some years (about 6) I got a card with them but got bored with it as the limit was so poor I couldn’t use it for what I needed it for so I closed it. Ditto with Vanquis- I now have a card with them which I actively use and clear in full.
