Agency worker laid off during covid 19 without option to be furloughed

Hi I work through an agency for Wabtec I have worked there for over 12 months today they laid me off Wabtec and the agency can't provide me to be furloughed to qualify for 80% is this right?! Someone please help as I can't seem to find a straight answer from anywhere!! Thank you in advance Melissam12

    To furlough or not to furlough is entirely optional as far as your employer is concerned.

    All the government has said is that agency staff can be furloughed. But no mention of how, who does it the agency or the employing company. I would guess neither would be that keen on doing it.
