I am also in the process of applying for letters of administration for my brother who died in China on the 11th December. I paid the £215 straight away and have had little communication from the Oxford Probate registry office since January this year. We had to pay £16,000 to repatriate my brothers remains and the funeral costs etc. I am acting on behalf of my father for whom I hold an LPA but along with that, and the fact that the UK Coroner opened an inquest into his death has made it all very complicated. Does anybody have any information on how I can expedite this. Its impossible to get anyone from the Oxford Office on the phone as its constantly engaged ( 137 dials in one day and still no answer). So Sorry to hijack your enquiry but hoping that someone on here can help me in any way whatsoever.0

When dd they receive your application ? I was told to expect a 8-10 week wait even before the virus hit. Hat's off to your perseverance with the calls, I phoned the Oxford office a few times and emailed, all without reply.0
