Damaged delivery

Hi I’m wondering if someone can help.
I brought an antique wood burner and arranged the collection for it myself the item was damaged during transit beyond repair . I have pictures from the seller before collection and on receipt of delivery.
the delivery company offered free insurance per KG so I thought I was well covered they have admitted liability and offered to refund the cost of the wood burner but won’t refund the carriage So I’m still out of pocket by £120 for something I can’t use. Is this legal and fair.
