I would make sure it is parked OFF road and secure. 

The lease company is the owner and registered keeper throughout and after the lease contract ends. No liability with the hire once ended.
Just clean it, video it, send it them with parking location. Public highway is fine. They are responsible for tax and 3rd party insurance as a minimum, hence the don't drive it instruction
