Good morning all,
The HT and I have been out for our morning walk (we were out before 7:30) and we only saw one other person - we did keep our distance but said hello. The HT had a bad day yesterday with a lot of pain (hypermobile joints) but I dosed him with paracetamol and he's much better today, so it's good for him to go for a walk if he can.
I cleaned most of upstairs yesterday and in the evening the cat caught a large spider which I probably disturbed by hoovering under everything. The spider was evicted alive which makes a change from finding them when the cat has played with them until they "stop".
The milkman brought bread and milk this morning and other stores seem to be holding up OK. I divided the last lot of gingerbread biscuit dough into three and I've baked them one lot at a time. I've one bag in the fridge that needs to be rolled out and baked today as we're down to one gingerbread person left in the box.
Camelot I didn't get a text for my Argos afternoon delivery until after mid day.
Nelski "Hope you get all that you deserve" would probably be an appropriate sentiment for that card....
Take care all of you

Morning all!NMLC, are we really in goundhog month? I think it's April not March...
TA doesn't need any more scaring....And todays delights are more garden...the digging is finished! yay! I am knackered! Yay! I tipped the two bags of coal dust onto it and raked it thin, then threw the box of compost the roses were in before I moved them to the front in and that will be raked today. Now I have to take off the top layer of uncomposted compost and put the good compost on there. It's easy to tell when I should stop, I start stumbling, breathing like a cart horse and am unable to speak...Then that signals time for a fun size snickers and a nice cup of tea....Our clap last night was pretty good, we had five houses doing it which is an improvement over none last week [ I just stood by the door last week feeling foolish and listening to other streets doing it much better] but then I think the lighter night helped so we can see each other. I waved to my neighbour across the road, she blew me a kiss, it's all good....camelot, it's lovely you have a piper...TA, you need a friday lie down not a tidy, you've done loads this week! dumpling, I told OH he had to help wiith meal planning because I was sick of having to do the thinking all the time. It's working but slowly... Nels, when I went on Monday, there was no flour/pasta/TP/beans/tinned toms so maybe they're still having trouble. Loads of veg though...Is there a local veg box you can sign up for? And yeah, get a card you think he deserves [insert evil smiley here]. Gers, have a nice time outside
nanny, hope your face pain is better...Hey all readers along! Funfair Friday!Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi11 -
I type this through my tears as I have just deleted the beautifully crafted post I had spent half an hour composing. STUPID STUPID STUPID.
I can't do it all again.
Briefly. Nelski, go for it. The rudest card you can find. You know it makes sense.
Last night's clapping was good. We also had fireworks, pretty ones. No bangs.
Today I'll be a busy little housewife and do the vacuum cha-cha.
THOUGHT FOR TODAY
Laundry: Washing - 30 minutes
Drying - 60 minutes
Putting away - 7-10 business days.I believe that friends are quiet angels

Have trouble remembering how to fly.13 -
snoozer said:Gers, it's not so easy to register as vulnerable with the supermarkets. We've been trying, Steve has had the letter and registered on the Govt website but all the sm websites say that they will be in touch when they have verified he is on the list. So far only Sainsbury's has sent an email (on Wednesday saying they would be in touch the following day but they weren't). My friend said they had received a box of food from the govt but it was fairly useless, especially as her husband is diabetic. Apparently it contained chocolate cereal and biscuits but also corned beef and some soup. We don't need stuff like that, it's fresh veg, milk and bread that we lack.I know - and we in Scotland can't register at all as the system isn't in use here. Despite that there's no access to online deliveries without registering. Luckily I can still get out.One of our friends got the letter as he's got COPD, he's reluctant to register because of the contents of the box.11

I thought those grocery boxes M & S and Morrisons are doing sounded a good idea until I looked at the typical contents!! I was expecting more fresh stuff - silly me! I won't be trying to get one as most of the contents would still be here when the siege is over. Well ok maybe not the Percy Pigs, choc buttons and choc bars in the M & S one!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12

Morning all
Nice bright day here again we have been lucky with the weather. I took small pup over the field yesterday as we cant walk them together as big pup wont leave little one alone, I got back as dd was on a conference call supposed to last an hour or so so I turned around and took big pup out straight away a bit naughty as we are only supposed to exercise once but I kept well away from anyone I saw which was not many, both dogs had another walk later on by OH and DD so both were shattered last night.
Onto today I think I am going to do the edges in the garden with the edge trimmer its looking really good out there atm and this will finish it off nicely.
Dinner tonight will be a pasta dish with a HM pasta sauce (with loads of veggies in) and some panchetta with salad and garlic bread so a nice easy meal.
The clap was brilliant last night a lot of our road went out with saucepans and wooden spoons etc, it was very moving and a lovely thing to do.
Take care all and stay safe xx11 -
Morning all, dull today.Pooch walked, I was the only 1 on the park.Since they shut the carparks it's been very quiet, just local people. I wish I could say we walked miles, but no- just the usual plod along her preferred short route, she then stops walking & turns to go back home
My delivery came yesterday, lots of subs - some of them a bit odd, & no butter or choice of cheese, managed to get some cheese spread, well I suppose it'll last longer
. Not quite the same on hot toast though - oh wait my bread flour will only last another week if that, menfolk are going through one a day! Did some ironing yesterday & put away so we're a bit tidier now. I read online that fly tipping of clothes etc has increased a lot as people are blitzing their wardrobes & dumping because the tips are shut!Ham & lentil soup for lunch ,did a big panful yesterday, not sure about tea yet.Lots of reading being done, feeling a bit lethargic concerning housework though!Hope everyone stays well, take care xx:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Afternoon - after my conference call I went out to an M&S food hall to pick up fishy dishes for DM - it was very quiet without a queue so I was able to whizz round easily enough. I also bought some goodies to put into little bags for my neighbours who are doing the 'close clean up' tomorrow, some teacakes (Scottish variety, not fruit buns), wee Easter eggs, a disposable cloth and a thank-you card. As I've been made exempt from doing the cleaning I feel honour bound to contribute at least my thanks. To my joy I found that my favourite Italian eatery has remained open for takeaway of their own home-made savoury tartlets and cakes. The wee goats cheese and caramelised onion tarts are so tasty, they will tempt DM into eating.Apart from putting a washing load on there's not much to distract me from doing nothing much. Can't rouse any enthusiasm for cleaning especially as the cleaner was here yesterday. It's a Friday feeling!

Afternoon all"I'm busy doing nothing, working the whole day through" such an apt song for me lately. DD called this morning with my meds and we swapped them with a hair cutting kit. Apparently our DGS needs his hair shorn. He was so cute when he was little as he always had a halo at the back/top of his head, because of a double crown, but it would not be cool now...... he would have no street cred
I sat on the doorstep and DD sat on the wall, while Mr Fix It stood up to grow (if that worked I should have stood !) She had been to school yesterday and they had 8 children in. She enjoyed it and she was given breakfast, a cooked lunch and several snacks. We clapped from the bedroom windows last night and we weren't the only ones this time. Several neighbours came out and we had a waving session to each other, as we haven't seen each other for days. One even brought out a saucepan and a spoon to bang. There were fireworks in the distance and someone had a very loud horn. I was unsure of the length of time for clapping though.I will clean out the fridge this afternoon and I need to sort out the ironing from non ironing. Later I shall have a long bubbly soak in the tub...... just because I can !Nelski You're on with the paint chart challenge, although I'm a light caramel brown already, that's my normal colour. Good luck with your shopping delivery. We have an Asda one coming on Sunday, so fingers crossed that we get most of it. I have no idea when or if we will get another one.TA I looked at the boxes too. I thought Morries were better for basics.Monna please don't cry over your posts. It will make your tablet all soggy ! Love the thoughts for today.Cranky you can't get a milkman for love nor money here. I miss "Dai the milk" who retired and no one took up his rounds
Well enough waffling. Enjoy the day if you can.Take care allnan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently12 -
Nannywindow, Chris has a double crown and always keeps his hair very short. He goes to the barber every two weeks so he was bewailing the fact that he can't go this weekend. My friends are talking about going grey, but I don't have that problem thanks to mum's genes, I'll probably look very straggly by the end though.
I've been really struggling today, but Laura Facetimed us a little while ago to show us Esben chomping on the soft bits of some cucumber. He's 5 months this week so technically has another month before he goes on to solid food but he is so ready for it. Laura was eating an apple the other day and he kept grabbing her hand and guiding it to his mouth so that he could suck on it. The cold probably felt lovely on his gums. Anyway she's decided to bite the bullet and see how it goes, I told her the advice when she was a baby was to wean at 4 months so I'm sure it won't do any harm.
