On the beach

Hi!
I booked a holiday to Lanzarote for myself & my family, the holiday is not until October. However, I have recently found out that I am now pregnant and would be too far gone to fly. I need to cancel my holiday but on the beach are asking for £600 PLUS £30 per person. I've asked if I can just move to a later or earlier date (of course what with everything going on, later would be best.) however, they have told me that again charges will apply. I just wondered if there was a way around this? I've not paid the full amount on the holiday yet, I've simply paid the deposit and I absolutely am not paying anything more as I will not be going on the holiday. Could somebody please please advise on what steps I should take? What would happen if I just didn't pay them?
Many thanks.

If you wish to alter your holiday dates then charges will apply. If you check your holiday documentation or their website they will likely give an indication what they might be.
The flights may well very restrictive and non-refundable so moving those may not be possible.
By reading your travel documents or agreed terms it will tell you what loss will be incurred if you cancel. This may be just a loss of deposit, but if you are on a low deposit offer you will likely have to top that up and pay it. If unsure you will need to speak with OTB again but ask them clearly what the charges are for a cancellation at this time.1 -
You may be obligated to making further payments after the deposit , many low deposit schemes specifically timetable when further payments are required.
Travel insurance will not cover you because of the pregnancy and neither will a section 75Ex forum ambassador

I've checked their deposit scheme , you pay a low deposit and then agree to pay another payment to reach the full deposit amount . Final payment of the balance 14 days before departure.
All clearly stated in the confirmation emails and on their website.

Have you got travel insurance? If you are unable to fly ( not just chosen not to fly) you could claim on that.
