Furlough

I am an agency worker and was working for Parts plus Ford until Ford reduced staffing levels due to coronavirus, I know my agency had a lot of contracts in a similar situation so rather than to try surviving on the 1 day a week work I was expecting to get, and if you cannot survive on statutory sick, 1 day's pay is less in most cases, I asked to be furloughed. I was told Taskmaster directors were discussing the situation and I would have an answer in a day or two.
Well, got my answer today and I am not going to be furloughed. The reason for this, they are saying, is that while on furlough I accrue holidays, the government, apparently, are not covering this, so they will not furlough anybody. They say if we are furloughed for 3 months that would cost an extra £500,000 to the business.
Now I am quite willing to not accrue holiday while furloughed and need to understand where I go from here.

You go to Universal Credit. The furlough scheme has it advantages and its disadvantages. Holiday pay is one of those items that appears to have been missed in the rush. It won't affect many companies but it has a disproportionate effect on Agencies.
- All land is owned. If you are not on yours, you are on someone else's
- When on someone else's be it a road, a pavement, a right of way or a property there are rules. Don't assume there are none.
- "Free parking" doesn't mean free of rules. Check the rules and if you don't like them, go elsewhere
