Is 3DM Legal legitimate?

Hello, I've been hounded by 3DM Legal for ages and had already approached Lloyds myself over PPI and they had said I didn't have a claim.
At one point I did tell 3DM they could act on my behalf, just to stop them calling. However I never signed anything.
Now they say I have a claim and I owe them their 24%. I have received a letter from Lloyds confirming but wasn't sure it was real. It doesn't have the usual coloured logo? However the amount has turned up as a transfer into my account with ref PPIXXXXXXX but no other details.
Forgive my ignorance I still don't know if this is a scam and the amount will be withdrawn after I pay 3DM Legal?
I bank with Halifax and they are not taking calls at the moment so I am not able to check with them.
Can you please advise, so I know whether to pay the bill? Many thanks.

It doesnt need to be colour. And the fact money has turned up in your account for the same amount indicates it is authentic.

If they can produce one, then you pay it. If they cannot then there is no contract of employment.
