Drain flooding property but not serving my home. Drain survey incorrect.

Hi all,
Have always found advice and guidanc here so thankyou in advcance.

Bought my home 2 years ago. Had a CCTV drain survey done prior to purchasing which Revealed no defects or concerns.
Live on corner property with public sewer system on my property all running into that.

Lately have noticed one of drains (with nothing serving it, no sink, no sewer or rainwater) backing up slowly.
Thought it was a blockage, called out private drains company who thought it was a blockage. They put down 15-10 metres and jetted down. That didn't solve it. They noted that the pipe wasn't seen in any of the manholes around the property and after switching on all sinks and toilets also noted that the drain wasn't serving anything in my house.
They concluded it may be a clogged soak-way but felt regardless with the amount of rope they'd put down the drain continued off my property.

Called in severn trent who did similar but dint understand why the water seemed to be tainted with grease. They also put down 15-20 metres of rope and jet washed again. At that point noted a vibration near the ground near the border of my property, as they continue to put the rope down, noted the vibration carried on past the border into neighboring property.
They then sent down a Camera and followed the pipe to a possible manhole which may be under neighbors extension!
They again have advised blockage is upstream, don't understand why the outlet for all this drain is on my property and have advised to dig up, cap off the drain and divert the rest of it into my normal drain set up.
Have been quoted £500+ for this.

My ask for advice would be
1. This drain and its origins wasnt picked up on the cctv survey, infact they drew a diagram saying it was connected into my kitchen drain(incorrect)
2. Whos responsibility is this all? Am i meant to just cap it off and ensure my property is safe, but feel slightly hard done by especially as this drain literally serves nothing in regards to my home but is clogging back right onto my houses brickwork!
3. would insurance be of any help, severn trent advised they would first try to enquire what the problem was which would take up time and need cop-operation of neighbours and open up a can of worms if they found a manhole under their extension.

Cheers guys
