Can I claim UC - furloughed but savings with Conveyancer

Hi all,
I have recently been made furloughed by my employer, and will be receiving 80% of my income for the foreseeable.
I am also in the middle of purchasing a property. I have £20k worth of savings in a Lifetime ISA that has been transferred to my Conveyancer as part of the deposit for the property. As such, I am now not able to access these funds without them going back to the Lifetime ISA provider (who has already closed the account).
In terms of this, I have no further savings, so would I be able to claim the difference in pay (around £400/month net) through the UC scheme?
Many thanks in advance

I think you could probably make a case for the savings to be disregarded if you are contractually committed to your future house purchase.MickeyD_2 said:... would I be able to claim the difference in pay (around £400/month net) through the UC scheme?
However UC doesn't work like that. It doesn't match your pre existing pay. You have a maximum allowance and this is then reduced by 63% of your earnings received. Whether you have any UC entitlement therefore depends on your circumstances and income. There are online calculators to help you assess entitlement https://www.gov.uk/benefits-calculatorsInformation I post is for England unless otherwise stated. Some rules may be different in other parts of UK.0
