Opus energy terminate

My energy supplier is with Opus energy at my beauty salon. My monthly payments are around £100 when its not a massive salon and i only use electric. Im wanting to see if i can find a cheaper rate to bring my monthly payments down. When I’ve been online to look at cancelling loads of people have said they are a nightmare.
Ive noticed too im fixed in until 2023, i don’t remember signing for 4 years it was on the phone. Its my first own salon and they rang saying they were the current supplier so i thought save hassle and stay with these.
I recently sent a letter with a request to terminate as told to do so on their website, and I received a letter saying the earliest date i can leave is 3/9/2023. Have i to ring or send another letter asking what the penalty is to leave as theres no mention of this in the letter or in the terms and conditions.

can anyone help?

Thank you, Rachel.

Remember that the rules are different for business customers.  Did you sign any paperwork?  Read the Ts & Cs very carefully.
If not, send a Subject Access Request asking for the recording of the telephone call.

Also do check your actual metered usage, it doesn't really help to be concerned about how big or small your salon is, it just matter how much power you are using each month.
Are your payments each month based on actual usage?
For a business I would hope so, but check your bills just in case you are inadvertently running up a debt.
Once you know what the actual usage is you can look around and compare the costs for that amount of power each month to see if there are significant savings to be had...
... but if you really are locked into a long contract you may find the cost of terminating greatly exceeds the savings you'd make given how low your current bill actually is...
