Hen Party Cottage refund.

Hi, we are also in a similar position, Celebration Cottages would not allow us to use a credit card, we are well over the permitted number of housholds allowed and they insisted on full payment even though it was unable to go ahead. We have now lost a very substantial deposit but feel we may take them to small claims court but are concerned we may loose even more money that we can't afford to loose. We booked for a special birthday which has now gone, a potponement was not an option for us unfortunately.0

Few people obtain the correct insurance cover. If any at all for such events.JamoLew said:Claim on your insurance1 -
We hadn't the correct insurance as there were so many of us it would have been futile claiming with the excess per person. Does anyone have the terms and conditions from pre covid for booking with celebration cottages?0

The problem is they can still hold you to the full contract - it's not their fault you can't attend due to the mixing rules.woodwonder67 said:We hadn't the correct insurance as there were so many of us it would have been futile claiming with the excess per person. Personally, and I know it's galling, I'd leave it - you could issue a Small Claim and find they counterclaim for the full amount.1 -
If you feel you have a strong case as we felt, you can submit a claim to the small claim courts, we did and recouped the majority of what we felt we were owed.
