Opodo Delayed refund 90 days

I’ve finally got through to Opodo and confirmed cancellation, we were due to fly tomorrow noon and Thai Airways cancelled or flights about a week ago.
I was advised that due to ‘involuntary’ cancellation terms, a 90 day refund period applies.
I asked for the T&C clause, but thy could not advise, just directed me to the website to check the terms and make a complaint via the ‘Claim Form’.
The terms DO NOT list this provision and there is no Claim Form, you just go round in circles trying to chat with a Facebook robot, else have to call the call centre, but the team there are stretched and evidently uniformed about the company T&C and complaint procedures.
The question is how can they effect a 90 day period for refund if it’s not in the terms and does anyone have another contact route other than the call centre or Facebook chat?
Thanks in advance !!

same situation for me, even rang my credit card company who said we have to allow them the 90days first before doing a chargeback. My argument is if they can take the money in a matter of minutes then why not refund in a matter of minutes

The credit card company is wrong, they may want you to wait, but you don't have too.
A promise to pay isn't the same as payment.
It is totally in your right to stop asking the retailer ( or travel company)  and just go directly to your credit card.
You can claim form both at the same time,  but only accept full payment

The problem is the money is in the hands of the airline,Thai in this case, and a travel agent will not refund until they get the money back from the airline. Most airlines have set up a system to pay in not less than 3 months, Virgin says 100 days and Emirates, 'by August'

I can understand the travel agents haven't got the money to refund as they haven't been paid themselves, it's a case of cashflow.
It might say 90-100 now   but in two months that might have changed to another 90-100 days

That's why I would go direct to the Credit Card, they cant claim they haven't got any money, also a Section S75 isn't reliant on the Credit Card company being able to get the money from the travel agent (unlike a chargeback)

  • We have experience the exact same! We have been waiting 15 months for a refund!!! It’s so distressing. I must have called them over 20 times.  Been promised multiple manager call backs - not received a single call. The only thing Opodo see to be consistent at is their appalling customer service. I have never received any communication to re assume me that they are even trying to get my money back.

I would agree that such a wait is excessive.
Which airline were you due to fly with and what was your original departure date?
Did the airline cancel the flight?

I read Opodo reviews and realised they would be a complete waste of time. I went straight to the credit card company. "Opodo won't communicate with me. Help!". I felt it was an advantage. Obviously I was never going to get anywhere Opodo. Got refunded relatively quickly. The problem is the limit of time with credit card transactions.
