Hi my dogs were due to go in kennels in May due to me going on holiday, holiday got rebooked to next year, but the kennels are getting cancelled, the kennels are only offering me 50% back, am I right in thinking I should get the full amount back?

Whatever your contract says.

Until they know they are not going to provide the service, and they do not for May yet, they will be assuming they can.

Should not have even contacted them yet in this case and should be waiting to see what happens. (unless using the cancelation policy which you know about).

It really depends on the contract terms that you agreed to. The terms should outline how much money you get back when you cancel. Otherwise, check to see if the fees are covered under your travel insurance.
