Hotpoint Fridge Freezer

Pretty sure I already know the answer to this but I am going to ask anyway just to double check!!
We have a spare Hotpoint fridge freezer in the garage which we were going to get rid of but given recent events we have brought back into use to give us some spare freezer capacity. We don't need the fridge part only the freezer. So my question is if I turn down the setting on the upper fridge compartment to it's lowest setting will this have any bearing on the temperature in the lower freezer compartment.

It'd depend on the model. Does it not have seperate controls/ thermostats for fridge and freezer?

No. There is a fast freeze button for the freezer but nothing else.0

Also depending on the model, it may not work properly in a garage.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Why would it not work in a garage please?
It is a Hotpoint Aquarius from memory. I went out and checked it earlier and it seems to be keeping everything frozen while the fridge is turned down. Will keep an eye on it for a couple of days to make sure.
Got a meat delivery coming tomorrow which wont fit in the freezer in the kitchen!0 -

The model number would help someone more up to date than me to help, it used to be under the front lip of the top, open the top door to find it.

It is one of these:

It was pretty new when we moved house but was too small for the gap in the new kitchen which is designed for an american style fridge freezer so it got stuck in the garage and never switched on again, until now a year on!0 -
It depends on the garage. Our 25 year old Hotpoint ff is in the inner corner of the integral garage, and works perfectly. A stand alone garage, however, is likely to be colder and so less suitable for a ff.0

The spec on the link says it will work in ambient temperature down to 10 C
"Operates in ambient temp range of 10-43°C"0 -
It is in a detached garage so will be getting colder than 10 degrees at the minute I should imagine!0

Just been and checked it as I am a bit paranoid about it now!!
It seems to be working just fine. The food in the freezer is all still frozen solid. I have turned the thermostat in the fridge up a notch rather than being on it's lowest setting.0
